Provenance: Terontola near Cortona.
The vineyards grow on medium density Pliocene age earth, well exposed to the sun at circa 300 meters above sea level. .
Harvest: the grapes are hand picked when ripe
Grape varieties: 100% Sangiovese
Alcohol content: 13,5%
Colour: impenetrable with violet reflections.
Smell: evident fruity base. Whiffs of black fruit and spices such as pepper, toasted coffee and even mineral and balsamic hints.
Flavour: rich in the mouth, well balanced and very enjoyable, supported by a pleasant woody taste which leaves a toasted coffee finish with a lightly sweet aftertaste.
Vinification: in steel at a controlled temperature of between 28°e 30° C with the grape peel for 25 days.
Refinement: aged for 14 months in French oak barrels for fermentation. Bottle aged for 10 months.
Serving temperature: 18° - 20° C
Combine with: Red roasted or grilled meat, wild fowl and seasoned cheeses, rich cuisine.
